- Description:
Levi Island is an uninhabited rock about a mile north of Cupids Cay and in settled conditions it is an easy dinghy ride away. There is an anchorage on the east side of the island that is framed by the island itself, a shallow sandbar to the north and the mainland of Eleuthera. There is good protection from the west and north, with good holding in clear sand. For those who wish to be close to Governor’s Harbour but prefer a less crowded anchorage this is a good choice. During the winter months moving back and forth between the Levi Island anchorage and Governors Harbour is a viable strategy for dealing the clocking wind from a passing cold front
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
